Westpark Communications recently received a prestigious Star Award in recognition of business growth and community support over the past year.

The honor was presented to Westpark Communications President and CEO Kathie Edwards by the Houston West Chamber of Commerce at the 11th Annual Economic Development Summit and Star Awards Luncheon. The event was held at the Omni Houston Westside and attended by over 500 community and business leaders.

Westpark was selected based upon overall business performance and contributions to the West Houston community during 2008. Criteria include number of employees added, revenue increases and support of the community through donations of time and/or money. Westpark Communications has increased gross sales revenues by 10 percent each year over the past eight years. In 2008, Westpark increased gross sales revenues by 31% and staff by 56%.

"The West Houston area is home to many businesses that provide exceptional service and quality products, and we are thrilled to be able to recognize companies that have reached their goals both in business and community service," said Jeannie Bollinger, president of the Houston West Chamber of Commerce.

"The Star Awards is one way these outstanding companies are being acknowledged as Leaders in West Houston in terms of economic growth and impact as well as community involvement."
